Zelma Arith Findley, daughter of the late James and Margaret Ford Boyd, was born in Victor, Ark., on Sept. 11, 1919, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at the age of 86.

She had lived in Essex for the past 58 years and was an avid gardener, putting out a large garden every year. She was a member of the Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church near Essex.

On Oct. 23, 1937, she was married to Paul Findley in Leachville, Ark.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Findley of Essex; one daughter, Betty Mott of Essex; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and james Warren Findley; and five brothers, Alford, Robert, Buford, Floyd and Silas Boyd.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Robert Sneed of Sikeston officiating and the Rev. Mike Brown of Essex assisting.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
