Lawrence Arends, son of Tony Arends and Ruth Ann Johnson Arends, was born on Nov. 25, 1993, at Marquette, Mich., and died at his residence in Bernie on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at the age of 11.

Larry was a student at the Bernie Elementary School and was in the sixth grade. He was a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church of rural Campbell.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Ann Arends of the home in Bernie; his father, Tony Arends of Kirkwood; one brother, Joseph Michael Arends of Bernie; two sisters, Alicia Rebecca Arends and Katherine Lyne Marie Arends, both of Avon Lake, Ohio; and his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Arends of Anchorage, Alaska.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at the Bethany General Baptist Church in rural Campbell with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.
