Jonelle Walker, daughter of the late Richard Oates and Vallie Lowe Oates, was born on Aug. 22, 1927, at Holcomb and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Nov. 13, 2005, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Walker was of the Baptist faith, a housewife and a resident of Bernie.

She was previously united in marriage to Edward Lee Walker on Feb. 9, 1948, at Pontiac, Mich. Mr. Walker preceded her in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Susan Gibson of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Linda Wilcox and Cathy Hanham, both of Dexter, and Tamra Craft of Bernie; two sisters, Odell Bullock and Evllyn McKinsey, both of Texas; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Cross; and two brothers, Billy and Wendell Oates.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at Powe Gospel Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, in the Powe Gospel Church with Rev. Ivan mekan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
