She had lived in Charter Oak where she graduated from high school. She moved to Sikeston in 1969. She was retired from Southwestern Bell after 35 years of service.
On Oct. 7, 1991, she was married to Herman Coffer in Sikeston. Surviving are three sons: Joseph Shuffit, David Shuffit of Jackson, both of Jackson, and Gary Coffer of Russellville, Ark.; three daughters, Ashley Dean of Springfield, Lynn Shuffit of Sikeston, and Sheri Seabaugh of Blodgett; one brother, William E. Dial of Demopolis, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dolan Rogers of Sikeston and Rev. Paul Burdine of Cape Girardeau officiating.
Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Services of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
