Eugene Ernest Parks

Eugene Ernest Parks, the son of the late Emmett and Ora Seager Parks, was born in Chaffee on Nov. 1, 1921, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at the age of 84.

He had lived in Southeast Missouri and the Dexter area all of his life. He was a Baptist and had worked as a carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On July 4, 1942, he was married to Wanda Hyslop in Acorn Ridge.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Parks of Dexter; three daughters, Lisa Coleman of Dexter, Kathy Holt of Nampa, Idaho, and Jeanie Lantz of South Carolina; one son, Dale Parks of Dexter; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Parks and one sister, Bonnie Christian.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Karen Oldham and Bonnie Cross, both of Dexter, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
