Norma Stephens
Norma Stephens, daughter of the late John H. Ayers and Guy Eula Corbitt Ayers, was born on Sept. 28, 1931, at Lexington, Tenn., and died in the Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center at Brooksville, Fla., on Nov. 18, 2005, at the age of 74.

Mrs. Stephens was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brooksville, a former member of First Baptist Church in Dexter, a homemaker, a former resident of Dexter currently residing in Brooksville, Fla.

She was united in marriage to Noble Chester Stephens on Jan. 21, 1951, at Lexington, Tenn. Mr. Stephens preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1980.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia G. Skipper of Brooksville, Fla.; three sons, Michael Noble Stephens of Tallahassee, Fla., Donald Glen Stephens of Willard, and John Alan Stephens of Dexter; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Wanda Ayers of Lexington, Tenn.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Marie Stephens of Columbus, Ohio, and Bruce and JoAnn Stephens of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Lynn Stephens; and one sister, Harriett Scott.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Don Kennedy officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
