Mary Vivian Mayo Smith

Mary Vivian Mayo Smith, daughter of the late John Oliver and Alta Kelly Alsup, was born at Idalia on Dec. 23, 1914, and died at Beverly Healthcare in Bloomfield on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Smith had spent her entire life in the Bloomfield community. She was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia. She was married to Ralph Charles Mayo, and he preceded her in death. She later married Raymond Smith, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joe Mayo; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Jim Mayo of Bloomfield; three step-sons, Dan Smith of Grand Blanc, Mich., John Smith of Sun City, Ariz., and Jerry Smith of Mt. Morris, Mich.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Sitz officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
