Kenneth Dean "Kenny" Darter, 59, of Sikeston, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at his residence in Sikeston following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Matthews to the late Grady Norman and Mary Paralee Bratton Darter. He was a 1964 graduate of Matthews High School. He served in the Missouri National Guard 1140th Engineers Battalion for seven years. He was a procurement agent and supervisor with the Missouri Department of Transportation for 29 years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by two brothers, Jerry Darter of Imperial and Norman Darter of Dexter; and one sister, Vanetta Sindle of Sikeston. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ergle and Lorene Powell.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Rev. Chad Bles, minister from the Miner Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
