Virginia M. Penton

Virginia Penton, daughter of the late Andy Elmer Rankin and Fannie Clementine Bolin Rankin, was born on Aug. 2, 1919, at Bloomfield, and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center at Bloomfield on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Penton was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, La., a member of the Eastern Star in Bogalusa, a housewife, a former resident of Herrin, Ill., and was currently living in Bloomfield.

She was first united in marriage to Francis Emery Butler on Dec. 23, 1945. Mr. Butler preceded her in death on March 17, 1976. She was then united in marriage to Estes G. Penton in Bogalusa, La. Mr. Penton preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2002.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Ann Butler; one brother, Norman Rankin; and one sister, Francis Fay Williamson.

Visitation will be held from noon - 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, with Rev. Sam Brotherton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
