William R. "Scrap" McClard, 58, of Dexter died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter.
He was born Aug. 12, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jesse B. and Hilda M. Sachse McClard. He was raised in Jackson by his mother and maternal grandfather, Otto Sachse.
McClard was a sergeant in the U.S. Marines, serving during the Vietnam era, and honorably discharged March 1, 1972. He then worked as a surveyor in construction for Laborers' Local Union 1104 in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member of the Elks Club in Dexter, the American Legion in Jackson, the VFW, and a former member of the Jackson Elks Club.
Loving survivors include his girlfriend of 14 years, Viola "Vi" Williams of Dexter; three daughters, Racquel "Rocky" Green and husband Chris of Jackson, Tammy McClard of Jackson, Misty Koenig and husband, T.K. of Jackson; former wife, Patricia Koch of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Macy Baker, Justin Green, and Tristen Koenig, all of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Gary McClard.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 3, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.
Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Gordonville with graveside military honors.
