Donald Ray Vancil, son of the late Tona Ray Vancil and Elsie Pearl Palmer Vancil, was born on Dec. 25, 1935, at Campbell and died on Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, in the Gideon Care Center at the age of 69.

Mr. Vancil had been a farmer, had worked at IXL Handle Mill, was a member of the Bibleway Association Church of Bernie and was an evangelist.

Mr. Vancil was united in marriage to Gloria Magdeline Dean on Feb. 16, 1974. She survives of the home in Bernie.

Survivors include one son, Shannon Ray Vancil of Malden; three daughters, Penny Miller of Malden, Jamie Vancil and Darla Eggert, both of Bernie; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, with Rev. Jack Crawford officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
