Dr. Robert Jibben, son of the late Gustave Robert Jibben and Mildred Holliday Jibben, was born on Sept. 15, 1924, at Kirksville and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at the age of 81.
Dr. Jibben maintained an active family practice in Dexter from 1953 until 1996. He was appointed first Chief of Staff at Dexter Memorial Hospital, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, a member of Dexter Rotary Club and Boy Scouts of America.
On Dec. 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Noemy Gomez Castillo at Kirksville, and to this union four children were born. Mrs. Jibben resides of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, Noemy Jibben of Dexter, other survivors include two sons, Dr. Robert Joaquin Jibben and wife Laurie of Dexter and John Joseph Jibben, also of Dexter; one daughter, Cecilia Marie Jibben Wagoner and husband Shane of Nixa; one sister, Joyce Wasson of Joplin; three grandchildren, Benjamin Jibben Wagoner and Lisa Marie Wagoner, both of Nixa, and Amelia Marie Jibben of Dexter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lucy Nannette Jibben.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Vaughn Wright and Rev. Louis Lowe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
The family request that memorial contributions may be sent to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, First United Methodist Church in Dexter or Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
