James Carroll, son of the late Andrew Carroll and Hattie Matheney Carroll, was born on July 26, 1925, at Matthews and died at the Crossroads Court in Dexter at the age of 80.

Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include four sons, Ronny Carroll of Canada, Tommy Carroll of Michigan, John Carroll of Dexter, and Tony Carroll of Florida; three daughters, Irene Siminton of Louisiana, Pat Gough and Viola Philliphs, both of Alabama; two brothers, Jim Carroll of Mississippi and John David Carroll of Texas; one sister, Velma Duke of Bertrand; and six grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow immediately after the service.
