Brenda Kaye Murphy, 57, of Dandridge died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville, Tenn. Brenda was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and faye Backfisch of Dexter.
She had served her country for four years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, and she was an employee of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development for 27 years.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Frank Murphy of Dandridge; her children, Amy Murphy, Melissa Armour, Michael Murphy and Carri Pruitt; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna St. Pierre of Southold, N.Y., and Sue Morrisson of Etta, Miss.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market, Tenn.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Moncier officiating.
Interment followed in Deep Springs Cemetery.
