She had lived in Puxico until moving to Cape Girardeau in 1994. She and her husband had owned and operated the Puxico Mercantile. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Puxico, the Puxico Eastern Star and had served as a den mother for the Cub Scout program for many years.
On May 5, 1947, she was married to Alton Sutter, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen Sutter of Puxico and Douglas W. Sutter of Erie, Pa.; one granddaughter; and two sister, Opal Ward of Puxico and Copal Fronabarger of St. Peters.
She was preceded in death by one grandson; six brothers, Frank, Tom, Leffie, Raymond, Floyd, and Roscoe Ward; and two sisters, Octie Snow and Stella West.
Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. An Eastern Star service was held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating.
Interment followed in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
