Hilda Smyth, daughter of the late Dallas Baker and Clara Brown Baker, was born Nov. 10, 1930, at Essex and departed this life in her residence at Dexter on Jan. 6, 2006, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Smyth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a wife and a mother.

She was united in marriage to Alvin Smyth on Sept. 10, 1949, at Dexter. Mr. Smyth survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include three daughters, Vicki Waldrup of Dexter, Beverly Good of Cookeville, Tenn., and Susan Richmond of Cape Girardeau; her sister, Nelda Douglas of Dexter; and five grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
