Hilda Smyth, daughter of the late Dallas Baker and Clara Brown Baker, was born on Nov. 10, 1930, at Essex and died in her residence at Dexter on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at the age of 75.
Mrs. Smyth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a wife and mother.
She was united in marriage to Alvin Smyth on Sept. 10, 1949, at Dexter. Mr. Smyth survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides her husband, survivors include three daughters, Vicki Waldrup of Dexter, Beverly Good of Cookeville, Tenn., and Susan Richmond of Cape Girardeau; her sister, Nelda Douglass of Dexter; seven grandchildren, Trey Waldrup, Whitney Waldrup, Ryan Good, Sarah Good, David Good, Katie Richmond, and Luke Richmond.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Dexter or to the Stoddard County Children's Home.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.
Interment followed in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
