Jimmie Farmer, son of the late Charles R. Farmer and Lucy Ann Ruggles Farmer, was born on Sept. 18, 1941, in Dexter and died at his residence in Bloomfield on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at the age of 64.

Mr. Farmer was a former employee of ArvinMeritor in Dexter for 27 years. He was affiliated with the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter, an avid fisherman, and a resident of Bloomfield.

On Aug. 11, 1995, he was united in marriage to Judith Plumb at Piggott, Ark. She survives of the home in Bloomfield.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeff Farmer of Dexter and Jimmy Farmer of Imperial; two daughters, Jaime Dowdy of High Ridge and Julia Farmer of Bloomfield; one step-daughter, Cindy Allen of Bloomfield; two brothers, Charles Farmer and Allen Farmer, both of Dexter; four sisters, Levella Gold and Roxine Terrill, both of Dexter, Yvonne Taylor of Wappapello, and Frankie Kinder of Bloomfield; four grandsons; three step-grandsons; and one step-granddaughter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Farmer, Earnest Farmer, Robert Farmer and Raymond Farmer; three sisters, Lawanda Farmer, Ruth Elledge, and Hortense Davis.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Shane Mallard officiating.

Interment followed in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter.
