Mary A. George, daughter of the late Hobert Voss and Sibyl Coffman Voss, was born on Jan. 28, 1932, at hector, Ark., and died at her residence in Dexter on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the age of 73.
Mrs. George was a member of Sugar Tree Baptist Church near Bernie, a former supervisor with Ely Walker Manufacturing in Kennett, a former employee of B & M Landscaping in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to James Elvis George on May 4, 1957, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. George preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1988.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jean Gibson of Bernie; one granddaughter, Christy Jean Gibson of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Marlene Owens of Bernie and Gevauna Maddox of Dexter; three brothers, Bob Voss of Boyce, La., Rev. Bill Voss of Macksville, N.C., and William Voss of Wappapello.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Voss and Hobert Voss.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Ogelvie and Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath.
