Vera Edith Corbin, daughter of the late James and Gertie Robinson, was born on March 17, 1916, in Stoddard County and died in the William Beaumont Hospital at Royal Oak, Mich., on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Corbin was a member of the Woodside Bible Church at Troy, Mich., a homemaker and a resident of Troy, Mich.

She was united in marriage to William Herman Corbin, Sr., on Sept. 4, 1937, at Essex. Mr. Corbin preceded her in death on April 6, 1989.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol (Bill) Dyer of Holly, Mich., Bonnie Corbin of Troy, Mich., Mary Ann (Thomas) Pennington of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Marilyn (Bill) McClain of Berkley, Mich.; one brother, James (Hazel) Robinson of Dexter; two sisters, Joyce Wamble of Dexter and Edna (Theron) Long of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William H. Corbin, Jr. and James R. Corbin.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association.
