Fred W. Cantrell, son of the late William R. and Lettie Malone Cantrell, was born in Deering on Dec. 14, 1931, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the age of 74.

He had spent many years in Oregon and Oklahoma and had moved to Puxico five years ago.

He was married to Dollie Franklin in Reno, Nev., and she preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1999.

Surviving are four sons: Carl Cantrell of Medford, Ore., Ronnie Cantrell of Tulelake, Calif., Terry Cantrell of Medford, Ore., and Bobby Cantrell of Phoenix, Ore.; one daughter, Dottie Laurenzano of Santa Maria, Calif.; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, James Cantrell of Jackson; three sisters, Daisy Lynch of Cadiz, Ky., Kathryn Earls of Lake Orion, Mich., and Patsy Lynch of Puxico.

He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Cantrell; two brothers, Curtis and Melvin Cantrell; and one sister, Alma Yokley.

Services will be held at a later date with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
