Willie Mae "Billie" Kidd, the daughter of the late Phillip Ray and Verna Higgins McDonald, was born in Cleveland, Tenn., on Feb. 29, 1928, and died at the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the age of 77.
She had moved to Dexter in 1972, moved and spent 20 years at Lake Wappapello and returned to Dexter in 1997. She attended the Methodist Church.
On Aug. 2, 1951, she was married to Melvin Kidd in Detroit, Mich. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1992.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Denkins of Bloomfield; one sister, Lucille Trew of Cleveland, Tenn.; two grandsons, David Peacock of Bloomfield and Glyn Denkins of Chicago, Ill.; one granddaughter, Julia Denkins of Bloomfield; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Maeleah of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. David Hardin of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
