Earl Jewell Sitzes, son of Emanuel Jacob Sitzes and Susan Ethel Fish Sitzes, was born on Dec. 7, 1932, in Arab and died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his residence in Grassy.

On Feb. 16, 1952, he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Harris.

He was retired carpenter from N.L. Industries in St. Louis. He was a member of Grassy Friendship Church.

Survivors include four children: Patricia Blake of Bolivar, Gary Sitzes of McGee, Steven Sitzes of Wemago, Kan., and Roberta Schwantner of St. Louis; one brother, Roy Sitzes of Bethaldo, Ill.; one sister, Rose Shirrell of Zalma; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill McCormick officiating.

Interment will follow at Baker Cemetery in Marble Hill.
