Anna Lorene Eaton, 77, of Sikeston, formerly of Morehouse, died on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at 1:54 p.m. at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born on May 5, 1928, in Dexter to the late William Edward and Bertha Mae Coats Wader.

She had worked for Missouri Delta Medical Center and the Sikeston Convalescent Center in the housekeeping department. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse where she was a member of the Wings Ladies Group and sang in the church choir. She had served as a foster grandmother at Morehouse Elementary School. She married Johnie H. Eaton on July 3, 1942, in Benton, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2004.

She is survived by four sons, William "Sonny" Eaton of Sikeston, Johnnie Wayne Eaton of Morehouse, Michael G. Eaton of Portageville, and Jimmy L. Eaton of Morehouse; four daughters, Shirley M. Adams of Morehouse, Sue Goodman of McHenry, Ill., Barbara A. Elliott of Sikeston, and Sherri Smith of Sikeston; two sisters, Gladys Wilbourn and Mamie Campbell, both of Dexter; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in the Nunnelee Chapel with Rev. Randy Thomas, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Morehouse, officiating.

Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Loyd Adams, William Smith, Danny Carmack, Jr., Lee Head, Joseph Head, and James Goodman.
