John Hughlon Mick, son of the late Hughlon and Maude Mick, was born at Blytheville, Ark. on Sept. 9, 1922, and died at Missouri Southern Healthier in Dexter on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the age of 83.
Mr. Mick had lived in the Bloomfield community since 1957 and was a former member of the West Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer, a member of Bloomfield Lodge #153 A.F. & A.M., and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in World War II.
On March 19, 1945, he was married to Helen Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Helen Mick of the home in Bloomfield; three sons, John Michael Mick of Dudley, Joe Mick of Poplar Bluff, and Stan Mick of Dexter; one daughter, Karen Barton of Bloomfield; one brother, Jerry Mick of Jefferson City; two sisters, Emma Lou Fitzgerald of Blytheville, Ark., and Sunshine Garner of Vermillion, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Mick; and one grandson.
Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 9-10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with military honors by the Stoddard County Honor Guard.
