Beulah Summers
Beulah May (Murphy) Summers, 93, of Dexter, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Summers was born the daughter of John Neal and Mary Elizabeth (Robinson) Murphy on Nov. 17, 1912, at Bernie and married the late Alfred Albert Summers on Oct. 3, 1934, at Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and resident of Bernie, rural Dexter and Essex for all of her life. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the choir at the First General Baptist Church of Dexter.

She is survived by three children, Shirley Gantner of Dexter, Norman Dewayne (Stella) Summers of Rector, Ark., and Carolyn (Mark) Parker of Jackson. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Cindy Hendrix, Kenneth (Lisa) Summers, Susan (Allen) Adomite, and Terra Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Zach Selvig, Austin Hendrix and Tyler Summers; two step-great-grandchildren, Tiffany Ellis and Brian Ellis; one brother, J.W. Murphy of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Dorothy Kinkade of Moberly; other cherished nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and five siblings, Ruben Murphy, Pete Murphy, Howard Murphy, Doris Brown, and Mary Reeda Palmer.

Visitation was held after 5 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2006, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2006, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.

Interment followed at the Bernie Cemetery.
