Raymond Parker, Sr., son of the late William and Evelyn McDaniel Parker, was born in Perkins on Jan. 7, 1914, and died at the Arbor Place in Festus on Monday, March 13, 2006, at the age of 92.
He had worked as a farmer for many years.
He was married to Caroline Blanche Surface, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1983.
Surviving are five sons, Donald Ray "Road Runner" Parker of Imperial, Raymond Parker of Des Arc, Poncho Parker of Barnhart, Gabriel Parker and J.L. Parker of Chicago, Ill.; four daughters, Susan Copeland of Morley, Patricia Henson of Bell City, Norma Matney and Wanda Parker of Dexter; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three children and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
