Rev. Frank Bain

Rev. Frank Bain, son of the late Lester F. Bain and Naomi Lingle Bain, was born on Jan. 30, 1939, at Pocahontas, Ark., and died at his residence in Dexter on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the age of 67.

Rev. Bain was the pastor of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church at Aid. Prior to coming to Aid, he was the pastor at Unity Baptist Church in Benton, the Iona Baptist Church near Cape, the Bethany Baptist Church at Anna, Ill., and the General Baptist Church at Clay, Ky. He had also served as the music director and interim pastor of the First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was united in marriage to Trellis Ward on Aug. 6, 1977, at Huntsville, Ala. Mrs. Bain survives of the home at Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Tim Bain of Scott City; one daughter, Jill Spriggs of Scott City; three step-daughters, DeRhonda Gosche of Kelso, Lisa Schlosser and Dana Wright, both of Scott City; his step-mother, Lois Bain of Ellisville; two brothers, Jim Bain of Mattoon, Ill., and David Bain of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Kay Jones of Scott City and Becky Woolverton of Ballwin; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren and Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church at Aid.
