Mr. Boyt was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, a retired mechanics teacher in the Sikeston Public Schools, a former airline mechanic with T.W.A., and Ozark Airlines, a veteran of the United States Army Air Force serving in World War II, a former member of the Missouri National Guard, a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge #532, American Legion and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Matthews on Sept. 8, 1939, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Boyt survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Jim Boyt of Springfield; two daughters, Claudia Van Oostrom of Cape Girardeau and Sandy Steinkamp of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Boyt and Sam Boyt; and one sister, Rubel Barker.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Louis Lowe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
