Dorothy Catherine McCarty, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Henrietta Louise Ostoff Hale, was born in Fredericktown on May 31, 1925, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at the age of 80.

She had lived in Dudley and Dexter areas for many years.

In 1950 she was married to Wallace Max McCarty. He preceded her in death in February of 1999.

Surviving are one son, David McCarty of Dudley; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Dillinger of Dexter, Blanche Stein of Davison, Mich., and Eula Hackathol of Granite City, Il.

No services are planned at this time with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
