Christine Jane Samples
Christine Jane Samples, daughter of the late Richard Alvin Keating and Katherine E. Meinz Keating, was born on Aug. 22, 1923, in Ardeola and died at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Monday, April 3, 2006, at the age of 82.

Mrs. Samples was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, a retired secretary for U.S. Civil Service, and a resident of Dexter.

On June 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to Norwin Samples in Dexter. Mr. Samples preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1982.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Hargrove and Norma Hargrove of Dexter; one granddaughter, Kimberly D. Jones of Dexter; one step-grandson, Stan Autrey of Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Chelsie, Ashley, Hannah, and Brendan Jones, all of Dexter; two step-great-grandchildren, Dalton and Kendal Autrey of Tennessee; two nieces, Judy Slaughter of Dexter and Cathy Mikulus of Edmundson; one nephew, John Davisson of Alamogordo, N.M.; three great-nephews, Alan Slaughter, Jason Slaughter, and John T. Davisson; and one great-niece, Teresa Curtman.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Garland and Bessie Davisson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. A.J. Woolenburg and Rev. Danny Collins officiating.

Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
