Billy Dean Williamson

Billy Dean Williamson, son of Wilma Ruth Dunn Williamson and the late Billy Marion Williamson, was born in Cape Girardeau on Jan. 17, 1950, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the age of 56.

Mr. Williamson had lived most of his life in Essex and Southeast Missouri. He was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and was a retired history teacher and coach. He had taught in many area schools and had later trained as a real estate appraiser.

Surviving are one son, Josh Williamson of Essex; his mother, Wilma Ruth Williamson of Essex; one brother, Don Mark Williamson of Gonzales, La.; and one sister, Sharon lee Platipodis of St. Louis.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, one in infancy and Vicki Jo Tucker.

Visitation was held from 9-9:45 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at the Essex Cemetery in Essex with Mike Pope, Rick Fowler and Steve Scott officiating.

Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
