Mr. Pursell had lived all his life in Dexter. He was a retired mail carrier with the Dexter Post Office and was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Dexter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served during World War II.
On Nov. 28, 1946, he was married to Margaret Jean Porter in Dexter.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jean Pursell of Dexter; two sons, David Pursell of Florissant and Tony Pursell of Dexter; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Gwin; and two brothers, Elbert and Virgil Pursell.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
