Velma Lee Kingree, daughter of the late Harvey and Martha Jennings McRoy, was born at Bloomfield on Sept. 15, 1927, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Kingree was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. On April 5, 1947, she was married to Dow Kingree. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Kingree of Cape Girardeau, Michael Kingree of Bloomfield, and Steven Kingree of Jackson; one daughter, Donna Hutchison of Bloomfield; three brothers, Calvin and Ronnie McRoy, both of Bloomfield, and Donald McRoy of Alton, Ill.; four sisters, Eileen Crowe and Geraldine Harris, both of Bloomfield, Virginia Hendrix of Chaffee, and Vivian Patterson of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Brian Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
