James Christopher Boon, 47, beloved son of Nadine Boon (Leonard) of St. Charles and Dr. Robert H. Boon of Dexter, died in Detroit on Monday, April 10, 2006. He was the loving father of Ashton Lauren Boon, a student at University of Missouri-Columbia and the loving husband of Emily Scott (Boon) of Auburn Hills, Mich.

James Christopher (Chris) Boon is also survived by his brother, Dr. Robert E. Boon, a teacher at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. He is survived by his uncle Sam Huey and family of Dexter and many cousins and friends. Chris was born on May 9, 1958, in Sikeston.

Chris was a network systems administrator at Bernal Technology, Inc., in Rochester Hills, Mich., for the past seven years.

Chris' great loves were gardening, growing herbs, flowers, vegetables and cooking with his fresh herbs, making exotic flavorful dishes. His other great interest was creating a better computer design and a better way of networking to serve his company and to assist his friends. He took his laptop to the hospital and continued to provide technical assistance to friends in the hospital and at work. He was known as the "computer man" who walked around the P-2 Oncology section visiting and encouraging other cancer patients.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, and services will be conducted there at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006.

Interment will be in Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in St. Louis at 77 Westport Plaza, St. Louis, Mo. 63166 or to the First United Methodist Church in Dexter or in St. Charles, Mo.
