She had lived in St. Charles, Ill., before moving to Dexter in 1970. In 1991 she moved to Essex and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Essex.
In July of 1973, she was married to Roy G. Sanders in Dexter.
Surviving are her husband, Roy G. Sanders of Essex; two daughters, Linda L. Caldwell of Dexter and Ginger Jaco of Jackson; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Hurst of Bloomfield and Loene Bradford of Clinton, Ark. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Easley; and five brothers, Bill Dean, Bobby, Billy, George, John and Tommy Maddox.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Gary Gilbert of Essex officiating and Manny Alvarado of Sikeston assisting.
Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
