Ruby M. Marler, daughter of the late Sam and Bell Storey, was born in Oran on Jan. 27, 1918, and died at the Portageville Nursing Center in Portageville on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the age of 88.

Mrs. Marler was raised in the Wappapello area and had lived in Portageville for the last 18 years.

On Oct. 1, 1943, she was married to Clarence Edward Marler. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1990.

Surviving are one son, Ron Marler of Portageville; one sister, Verla Coffel of Holcomb; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one child who died in infancy.

Visitation was held after 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Wappapello Cemetery with the Rev. John Keel of Hayti officiating.

Interment followed in the Wappapello Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
