Beulah Mae Craft

Beulah Mae Craft, daughter of the late John Hester and Nettie Lorenda Welch Hester, was born in Bloomfield on Aug. 29, 1918, and died in the Malden Nursing Center on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Craft was a homemaker, a member of the Bernie Christian Church, and a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Rube F. Craft in Piggott, Ark., on May 29, 1935. Her husband preceded her in death on April 9, 1995.

Survivors include one daughter, Shelby J. Craft Clayton of Del City, Okla.; one son, Jerry L. Craft of Bernie; three sisters, Fredia Peterson of Cottage Grove, Ore., Mabel Holt of Cuba, and Dorothy Carter of DeSoto; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one son, Dale Craft; three brothers, Luther Hester, Ray Hester and Archie Hester; and three sisters, Wilma Powers, Opal Rife, and Nola Hartline.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Walter Dale Clayton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
