Russell Fleeman

Russell Lee Fleeman, son of the late Walter Fleeman and Ila McArthur Fleeman, was born on Sept. 26, 1926, at Essex and died in his residence near Dexter on April 29, 2006, at the age of 79.

Mr. Fleeman was of the General Baptist faith, the former owner of Fleeman Farm Supply in Dexter until his retirement in 1982, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Bettie Ann Lambert on Jan. 19, 1945, at Paragould, Ark. Mrs. Fleeman survives of the home near Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Tim Fleeman and wife Tammy of Dexter and Anthony Fleeman and wife Vikki of Mineola, Texas; two daughters, Dana Brooks of Jackson, Tenn., and Karen Harper and husband Rip of Dexter; one brother, Kenneth Fleeman of Peoria, Ill.; one sister, Wanda Foster of Dudley; six grandchildren, Chad Brooks and wife Michelle of Jackson Gap, Ala., Beth Christian Fowler and husband Billy of Dexter, Michael Fleeman of Dallas, Texas, Kristian Fleeman of Dexter, Amy Harper and Theron Harper, both of Reno, Nev.; 10 nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 .m. Monday, May 1, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. W.V. Mosbey officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Vascular Department at St. Louis, Mo.
