Mildred Braswell

Mildred Braswell, daughter of the late Elvin Aaron Sherwood and Thelma Hamlett Sherwood, was born on Oct. 4, 1935, at Braggadocio and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at the age of 70.

Mrs. Braswell was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, a homemaker and resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to J.D. Braswell on Feb. 5, 1955, at Hernando, Miss. Mr. Braswell survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Randy Braswell and Gregory Braswell, both of Dexter; two daughters, Janet Bingham of Bloomfield and Carol Braswell of Cordova, Tenn.; one brother, Ralph Sherwood of Tyler; two sisters, Loretta Wells of Caruthersville and Mabel Benton of Pahrump, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine House.

Visitation was held from 8-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Jim Hoyt and Rev. Lonnie Mittag officiating.

Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
