Harriet LaRue, daughter of the late Dr. Frank LaRue and Pauline Sisler LaRue, was born on July 26, 1928, in Dexter and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the age of 77.
Miss LaRue graduated from Dexter High School in 1946. She then went on to graduate from Missouri State University with a B.S. in teaching. Miss LaRue taught in Bloomfield, Bonne Terre, and St. Louis before going back to Missouri State University to obtain her masters degree in teaching. She then returned to Dexter and taught school while taking care of her ailing mother.
Harriet never married and resided in Dexter until the time of her death, spending the last few years at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.
Survivors include two cousins, Georganne Phillips and John Sisler of Houston, Texas; and two nephews, Frank Strickland and Paul Strickland.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Strickland.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 1 p.m. in the Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.
