Delmar Rice

Delmar Rice, son of the late Marion Rice and Lulu Lance Rice, was born on July 6, 1920, near Bernie and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the age of 85.

Mr. Rice was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ, a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II, a member of the Bernie Masonic Lodge and a resident of Dexter formerly of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth White on July 16, 1987. Mrs. Rice survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two step-sons, Ruben White of Malden and Bill White of Hot Springs, Ark.; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Horton.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with a Masonic service conducted at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Stan Dauck officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
