Wilma G. Morelan, 89, of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Morelan, the daughter of the late James W. and Minnie Alice (Boyer) Smith, was born March 12, 1917, in Mill Springs. She was a homemaker and a member of the Third Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Morelan enjoyed spending time with her family, oil painting, crocheting and sewing.

On Oct. 2, 1938, she married Clyde C. Morelan in Ellsinore. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1993.

Survivors include seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Howell of Ellsinore and Thelma Griffin of Altus, Okla.

A daughter, Mary Lee Mathis, preceded her in death in 1991 as well as a grandson; and a brother, Lewin Smith in 1994.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2006, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at the Carson Hill Church in Wayne County with the Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating.

Interment will follow in the Carson Hill Cemetery.
