Charles William Carroll
Charles William Carroll, son of Teresa Smith of Dexter and Billy Ray Carroll of Hollandale, Miss., was born on June 16, 1993, at Mattoon, Ill., and died in the St. Louis Children's Hospital on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the age of 12.

Charles attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, was a seventh grade student in the Bloomfield Public School System, a member of the Bloomfield Middle School Band, and a resident of rural Dexter.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Smith of Dexter; his father and step-mother, Billy Ray and Patty Carroll of Hollandale, Miss.; his half-brother, Chistopher Carroll of Phoenix City, Ala.; one step-brother, Chris Turfitt of Greenville, Miss.; two step-sisters, Tracy Turfitt and Debbie Turfitt, both of Greenville, Miss.; his maternal grandmother, Judy Acord of Dexter; his paternal grandparents, Sonny and Martha Carroll of Hollandale, Miss.; his maternal great-grandmother, Dalene Clayton of Wardell; his paternal great-grandmother, Mable Brown of Hollandale, Miss.; and one uncle, James William Carroll of Hollandale, Miss.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
