Mr. Cooper was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a former Supervisor at the Brown Shoe Company at Farmington, and had also been a line worker at ArvinMeritor. He attended the First General Baptist Church of Dexter.
Survivors include his special friend, Tina Gunter of the home in Dexter; his two sons, Jeremy Cooper of Sarasota, Fla., and Anthony Cooper of Wappapello; his father, Elmer Eugene Cooper of Spanaway, Wash.; his maternal grandparents, Howard and Marcelle Zimmerman of Bernie; his aunts, uncles and cousins; and one grandchild.
He was praeceded in death other than by his mother, his paternal grandparents, Marcus L. and Lula Cooper who raised him in the home as a son.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Kenneth Biggs and Rev. Don Cooper officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
