Hattie Mae Cullum, the daughter of the late William and Lydia Shemoney McCarthy, was born in Fisk on May 22, 1921, and died at the Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the age of 85.

She had lived in Parma all her life and was a member of the Parma Church of God.

She was married to James Lee Ralph Cullum in Malden, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1982.

Surviving are four sons, Jerry Cullum, Mike Cullum, Steve Cullum and Donnie Cullum, all of Parma; three daughters, Carolyn Woods of Parma, Joann Walker of Bernie, Judy Cannady of Risco; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pansy Gilly; four brothers, Edward Charles McCarthy, James Rosevelt McCarthy, Herman Matthews McCarthy, and Goldman Theodore McCarthy; and two sisters, Alma Richardson and Ora Lee McCarthy.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with the Rev. Jerry Chaney of Parma officiating.

Interment will follow in the Parma Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
