Helen Garner, daughter of the late August Friedlein and Martha Kohler Friedlein was born on September 12, 1915 at Guttenberg, Iowa and departed this life in her residence at Bloomfield on June 15, 2006 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Garner was a former cook and dietitian for the Bloomfield Public Schools, a 60-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Bloomfield and a resident of Bloomfield.

She was united in marriage to Ermer Garner. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1984.

Survivors include one son, James L. Garner of Bloomfield; two sisters, Iva Lee Noonan of Dubuque, Iowa and Ilo Boyle of Columbia, Ill.

Mrs. Garner was cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of the arrangements.
