Willard "Bill" Green

Willard "Bill" Green, son of the late Noah Sullivan and Bertah Bell Holycross Green, was born in Allen Township, Ohio, on Oct. 29, 1927, and died at Wappapello on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at the age of 78.

Mr. Green had been a resident of Dexter for the past 10 years and was a former resident of Marble Hill and Jackson. He had served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Cape Girardeau Post Office, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are one son, Donald Green of Dexter; one daughter, Delores Slinkard of Marquand; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Visitation was held after 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors conducted by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter was in charge of all arrangements.
