Lawrence "Larry" Tankersley, son of the late Jimmie and Maggie Tankersley, was born Jan. 3, 1923, at Madison County, Ala., and died June 30, 2006, at St. Louis University Hospital.

Survivors include his spouse, Hester K. Tankersley of Dudley; his sons, Lawrence C. "Sonny" Tankersley of St. Charles, Larry Tankersley and Dennis Tankersley, both of Dudley; three daughters, Judy Latronico of Chicago, Ill., Linda Hammerle of St. Charles, and Leslie Jean Potter of St. Charles County; one sister, Betty Goodon of Jonesboro, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Tankersley and his second wife, Kathryn Ray Tankersley; his parents; five brothers, Roy, Donald, Robert, Otis and Jay Tankersley; and three sisters, Faye Tankersley, Jewell Tolley, and Agnes Daley.

Memorials may be made to the Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Mo. 63301, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, or the Altzheimer's Foundation.

Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at The Baue Chapel of St. Charles.

Interment will follow in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles, Mo. 63301.
