Carroll Richmond Young

Carroll Richmond Young, son of the late Thomas and Ruth Kenser Young, was born in Arbyrd on Aug. 26, 1923, and died at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau on Monday, July 3, 2006, at the age of 82.

Mr. Young had lived in the Puxico community for many years and was a retired carpenter and construction worker. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served in the European campaign.

On Sept. 29, 1961, he was married to Eloise Clinton, and she preceded him in death on May 19, 1988.

Surviving are one son, Alan Young of Oak Ridge; three granddaughters; two sisters, Shirley Mitchell of Cape Girardeau and Patsy Bishop of Jackson, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Raymond Young; and one sister, Wilma Eaton.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico.

Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico with full military rites conducted by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Puxico will be in charge of all arrangements.
